When it was time to hang them, I set up my camera, and got ready to record. I have a trick I use to drill the screws in evenly on both sides. Unfortunately, I hit metal studs and decided to research different ways to hang my curtains without adding holes.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve read up on various ways to do this over the years, but I really wanted a technique that would allow me to hang my curtains higher and wider than my window frame. One of the techniques I saw involved a command strip curtain rod. I liked this idea but decided to tweak it a little. Not being one for waiting around, I headed straight to the store to pick up some tools!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Supplies<\/h3>\n<p>For this technique you will need the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-7 pound <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3xfaK2Z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">command hooks&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1\/2&#8243; lightweight <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3nuQeIb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">curtain rod<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Lightweight curtains (I used a faux linen curtain that I purchased on Amazon and absolutely love! You can find them here:<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3oGrTi2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Faux linen curtains.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Cardboard (if you want help lining up the hooks)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Installation Steps<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> First, you&#8217;ll want to clean the area where you\u2019ll be applying the command strip hooks. I use a 50\/50 vinegar and water mix. You&#8217;ll spray it on the wall, and wipe it with a clean rag or paper towel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Next, you&#8217;ll cut out the corner of some cardboard, and put a hole where you want the hooks to go. Make a pencil mark in the hole. I use this trick for regular curtains but figured I may as well use it here, and it worked great! Flip the cardboard and repeat on the other side of the window.<\/p>\n<p>If you need a little help on how high and wide to hang your curtains, check out my article &#8220;How to Hang Curtains Like a Designer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> The third step is to apply the command strip and hook, and let sit for a minimum of 30 minutes. It\u2019s best to let the command strips cure a little before you apply pressure. Not just with curtains but anytime you use them. Don&#8217;t skip this step. It makes a huge difference in how much weight your command strips can hold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Finally, hang curtains and enjoy your beautiful hole free curtains!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Seriously, this was such an easy set up and I wish I would\u2019ve tried it sooner! I may paint the curtain rods and command hooks later, but I wanted to get curtains on the wall. I will definitely be grabbing more curtain rods and hooks very soon!
