Laundry Room Organization (Day 15): 30 Day Organization Challenge

I was doing a load of laundry today when I decided it was time for some laundry room organization. I noticed that the laundry room collects random stuff. It is the only room, downstairs, where we can shove things and close the door. As much as I try to put things where they go immediately after I am done using them, it just doesn’t always happen.

The first thing I did was start putting things away. The blanker ladder that needs stored till the next house, the paper towels, dirty laundry, etc., it all got put where it belonged! Just that step made the room feel so much cleaner. I even went ahead and matched all of the socks from the sock bin. Does everyone have a sock bin? I probably don’t match them as often as I could, but today it got done!

We store a few paper products and extra pantry items in the laundry room. I hadn’t gone through these items recently, so I decided to today. Just like in the pantry organization process, I looked at every item. I threw away the expired things I found, wiped off the shelves, and put things back where they belong.

White completing my laundry room organization, I decided to clean the room as well. I don’t clean the laundry room as often as other rooms in our house. So, this was a great opportunity to dust, sweep and mop. It took me a little over 30 minutes, but totally worth it!

Here are the before and after photos. Simple, but much better!

Laundry Room Organization

This is one of those rooms that I cannot wait to design in my next house! Oh, the bins and organization I dream about. Yes, this is what I do in my spare time…think about organization systems. I currently have a broom holder, but the rest of these are some items on my list! Let me know if you have any favorites. I would love to check them out.
